Should smoking be allowed in public places?

Yes smoking should be allowed in public, open air places. I give you that nobody including most smokers like a smoke filled room or restaurant. As a smoker myself, I'm good with a ban on smoking in restaurants, most buildings, most businesses and airplanes. Yet, in those same places if you want to take away smoking, take away the alcohol as well. One can do just as much damage as the other.

Smokers and non-smokers could get along better if a compromise was done. Example: If a stadium is open to the atmosphere like the Cincinnati Reds or Bengals are, then make a few rows at the very top open to smokers. Paint the seats black if you want. I guarantee those seats will sell out immediately. Also this would allow smokers a place to go without offending anyone else who came to the game.

Example 2: Bars, now why take away smoking in a bar if you are going to leave the alcohol? This is just plain stupid. If my smoking is a problem, I would definitely think so would someone drinking and possibly getting behind the wheel of a car that could possibly take an entire family out

Example 3: Restaurants that have outside tables. Some of these tables should be reserved for smokers. This would allow the patrons to come to the facility and not burden the non-smokers inside the restaurant. Even if non-smokers were outside, it wouldn't get smoky and bother them while they enjoy their time either.

Encouraging people not to smoke is a good thing and I appreciate it but I believe our small governments and cities have taken it too far with banning it almost everywhere but your own house.
